Early Life and Background
Kristi Lynn Noem (née Arnold) was born in Watertown, South Dakota, on November 30, 1971. Her parents, Ron and Corinne Arnold, raised her on their family ranch in Hamlin County.
Education and Career Beginnings
Noem attended Watertown High School and later graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in agricultural economics. After college, she worked as a representative for Sioux Falls-based insurance and financial services company First Premier Bank.
